Hey, Ryan....

Come on out to MVP's on the 28th. Shane and I are hosting the STANK JAM again along with Dirty D on bass (as you had seen in another thread). Good 'ol redneck rock-n-roll! You can see Shane in his full glory! Well...maybe not....The Nekkid Monday Band won't be there in full force, so maybe not his "full glory".

Redneck Rock and Roll !!!
Hey, I resemble that remark.

Sounds like my cup of tea (or I guess that should be, "shot of tequiler")

Now if only a blues drummer will show up that can play one of those blues shuffle thangs, we'll be in business.
Hmmmmmmmmm......... I betcha Dan knows one.

"REMEMBERING SKEETER" - Skeeter Brandon Tribute Event, Thursday, May 15

On May 15, there will be a tribute event in Raleigh to honor Skeeter Brandon, who passed away on March 20th.

REMEMBERING SKEETER
Thursday, May 15. Doors 7pm. Music 8pm-11pm. $5 cover
Yancy's - 319 Fayetteville St., Raleigh, NC 919-821-7171

Scheduled to appear:
The Upperman Trio (Gospel) 8:00pm-8:30pm
Skeeter Brandon Tribute Band (Blues, Jazz, R&B, Soul) 8:30pm-11:00pm

Yancy's doesn't usually charge a cover on Thursday, but 100% of the door goes toward helping Skeeter's widow, Vanessa, with expenses (there will also be additional chances to give during the show). Although Skeeter had a small amount of life/burial insurance, he expressed financial concerns to me shortly before he died -- he didn't want Vanessa left with nothing after paying funeral/burial expenses. Because any expenses that are paid via donations will free up insurance money for Vanessa, please come out on May 15 and show Skeeter some tip jar love one more time. Vanessa meant everything to Skeeter and there is no higher tribute that we can pay him than to facilitate his final loving wish for her.

Special thanks to Yancy's. Special thanks to Armand Lenchek, Jazz Entertainment and the Triangle Blues Society for working with me to organize an evening that both appropriately honors Skeeter and respects Vanessa's wishes that tribute shows not be held prior to May.

Vanessa and other family members will be in attendance on May 15. Let's show Skeeter's family how respected he was in the blues, jazz, R&B, soul, etc., communities and that his 40 years of contributions will never be forgotten!

Please help me reach a larger audience by widely forwarding and/or posting this message in its entirety.

Thank you,
Sherry Johnson
Friend of Skeeter & Vanessa

Hey Yontz, you didn't take that picture at the Lincoln after some of those silly bastards that work there got through setting up did ya!?????!? Easy, easy now, I'm just kiddin' around. You do a very fine job there too, DTA, if I may add. It's always so much more enjoyable playing when you are confident in the one's hands in which your fate resides!!!

I wouldn't put it past some of the other idiots who've walked thru the doors at the lincoln... however... they don't have any fancy mikes like them thar AKG421's.... or whateverthehellthatis.
