 Nick Lowe | Nick Lowe Nick Lowe has confirmed his first headlining US tour since the release of his critically acclaimed new album 'The Old Magic' (Yep Roc). He will be backed on all dates by his longtime band of Geraint Watkins (keyboards), Robert Trehern (drums), Johnny Scott (guitar), and Matt Radford (bass). The tour follows Lowe's extensive run of US dates with Wilco in Fall 2011, that had the Seattle Weekly raving "If there is such a thing as a perfect show, Nick Lowe brought it."  Janes Addiction | Janes Addiction “THEATRE OF ESCAPISTS” TOUR From the beginning, JANE’S ADDICTION has thrown the most unique parties in rock, mixing a fierce musicality with theatrical flair onstage. 2012 sees the band--who’ve always outrageously combined electricity, sex and danger--return in support of their acclaimed album THE GREAT ESCAPE ARTIST (Capitol Records), which features the track “Underground”, currently climbing the rock radio charts. Recently starting on February 22, this special run of North American shows—called “Theatre of the Escapists”--will bring the band to intimate venues, most of which are classic theatres. The alternative rock pioneers--frontman Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro and drummer Stephen Perkins, along with Chris Chaney on bass—are poised to deliver an immersive theatrical experience as only they can. “We chose to play as many of the great theatres that we could find because we wanted to immerse the audience in a unique experience unlike any they have ever seen at a rock show,” says FARRELL. “Expect an orgy of musical and visual delights. Member Profile | PineCone presents Carolina Chocolate Drops http://www.pinecone.org North Carolina’s own Grammy winning Carolina Chocolate Drops kick off PineCone’s Down Home Concerts at the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts. Their latest release, Leaving Eden, has received widespread critical acclaim, and they’ve also penned a tune titled “Daughter’s Lament” for The Hunger Games soundtrack. The current band line-up features founding members Dom Flemons and Rhiannon Giddens with Hubby Jenkins, and New Orleans-based cellist Leyla McCalla also joins them on their latest tour. The Drops formed after founding members Flemons and Giddens met Piedmont fiddler Joe Thompson at the Black Banjo Gathering in Boone, NC in 2005. They traveled to his home once a week to learn from him and jam with him, and they started performing as a tribute to Thompson, a chance to bring his music back out of the house again and into dance halls and public places. Today, their music carries on Thompson’s old-time Piedmont music legacy and proves that the music of the past is as alive and vibrant today as it ever was.
